Construction Production & Materials Coordinator
Position Overview:
The Production & Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the field production team by ensuring materials are ordered, tracked, received, and delivered accurately and on time. This position bridges the gap between the office and job sites, helping projects stay on schedule, on budget, and within quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Support
- Assist Project Managers and Lead Carpenters with daily production needs.
- Help track project timelines and ensure necessary materials are ordered ahead of critical path deadlines.
- Perform quality control checks on delivered materials and jobsite deliveries.
Material Ordering & Receiving
- Place material orders based on production schedules and job-specific needs.
- Coordinate special orders, custom items, and long-lead-time products.
- Track purchase orders and delivery timelines to ensure just-in-time arrivals.
- Receive materials into inventory or directly onto job sites, inspecting for accuracy and damage.
- Work with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or damages immediately.
Logistics & Organization
- Assist in organizing warehouse inventory and jobsite staging areas.
- Deliver urgent materials or tools to jobsites as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized material staging areas at the warehouse.
Communication & Documentation
- Communicate daily with Project Managers, Lead Carpenters, and Vendors.
- Update project management software with material order statuses.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of all purchases, deliveries, and returns.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 1-3 years of experience in construction.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proactive communicator with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic understanding of residential construction materials and timelines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software (Buildertrend, CoConstruct, or similar).
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and occasionally work in warehouse or jobsite environments.
