The Warehouse Person/Purchaser is responsible for managing all purchasing activities, maintaining cost efficiency, organizing the warehouse, and ensuring accurate documentation and receiving of all materials. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks across both companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing and Vendor Management
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure best pricing and quality.
- Issue and manage purchase orders (POs) accurately and efficiently
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Track and analyze supplier performance and recommend changes when necessary.
Warehouse Management and Inventory Control
- Maintain an organized and efficient warehouse space.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure stock levels meet project demands.
- Implement inventory management systems to track and control materials.
- Oversee the safe storage and handling of all materials.
- Running materials to job-sites as/if needed
Documentation and Receiving
- Verify and document all received materials against purchase orders.
- Ensure accurate entry of all receipts into the system.
- Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure materials are delivered on time.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory and purchasing activity.
Cost Containment and Budget Adherence
- Monitor material costs and compare against project budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Provide monthly reports on purchasing and inventory costs to the leadership team.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in purchasing, warehouse management, or a related field a plus
- Strong understanding of construction materials and vendor management.
- Ability to operate Google Suite and learn CRM system
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
